WP7 takes over Android

At least within our family. :) Being one of the first Hungarian developers to have an app published on the Windows Phone Marketplace I've been awarded an HTC Radar phone by Microsoft Hungary. As soon as the Hungarian Marketplace opened up, I suspect that MS Hungary wanted to see Hungarian developers climb through the obstacles of the publishing process as early and as fast as possible. The Radar was a nice motivation, and the publishing process turned out to be really streamlined and easy to follow.

I was an early adopter of WP7 - got my HTC Mozart a few days after Microsoft's Windows Phone entered the European market. It took a year until the phone grew up to my expectations. I hate to sound like a fanboy, but it really was worth the wait. I could go on for hours about the tools, the tutorials and learning aids provided by Microsoft, the possibilities and the recently ignited huge marketing machine. I also have an iPad 2 and an Android phone, so I can compare these competing devices to one-another to some degree. I'm completely blown away by what Microsoft has done to the WP7 phone especially since its Mango update that came out this fall.

Anyway, so I won this new HTC Radar and told my wife she could have it if she liked it more than her Android. It only took about 10 minutes for her to completely fall in love with it. She told me I could have her old phone for testing. :) So I'm happy for her, she's enjoying her new toy.

Here are a few pictures I did while she was unpacking it.
